Game/Life Balance Australia – Episode 40 – Stream of Nonsense #8 – Hedonism

August has come and gone like a thief in the night, leaving us stabbed and bleeding out in the gutter. And to celebrate the end of AC’s dry month, he had a wee bit too much to drink over the weekend and somehow this podcast was produced. So join us for Stream of Nonsense episode 8, wherein we discuss hedonism, the RSPCA, explicit podcast ratings, laughing at misery, the only reliable path to securing your data, Nintendo’s attempts at doing internet things, Much Ado About Nothing, obsessive nerds, and some sad news about Rob’s personal life. Comedy and tragedy, this show has it all. Mainly tragedy though.

Our theme music for the show was loving handcrafted for us by two humans from the United States by the name of Me and My Shadow.  Check out their musical stylings on the world wide weebs at or

Game/Life Balance Australia – Episode 39 – The Dark Legacy of the Frog King

Well holy crap it’s another episode of this thing. This week the lads discuss Alex Kidd in Miracle World 2. That’s right, Ian made a sequel. God damn it Ian. Why did you have to do that? Actually it’s pretty alright, but to find out all the details you’ll have to listen to this podcast because if I describe it here then our show is just plain redundant. Also in this frigging marvelous episode: Rob finally got his chicken dinner, and AC has shifted from Splatoon 2 to Sonic Mania. Plus we have a quiz of some description. I’m sure it was a really good quiz. Really, really good. Also some jokes happened.

Our music were done by a musical peoples called the Me and My Shadow. They do a music and are just delightful. They have a weebsite called

Game/Life Balance Australia – Episode 38 – Mafia Pope

Another two weeks of our miserable lives have passed so it’s time to celebrate our impending demise with another hilariously tragic (or tragically hilarious?) episode of your least favourite podcast! This week our featured game is the fast-paced arcade remix, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX. We discuss the game’s pros and cons, as well as revealing for the first time ever the dark backstory of the eponymous Mr Pacman. Also in this riotous episode, Rob has yet to taste that sweet sweet chicken dinner, while AC is still knee deep in squid ink – yuck! Plus there’s the usual quiz and other malarkey. Huzzah!

Our musical musics were made by two young boys who are downright legends, the lovely Me and My Shadow from the US of A. Check out all their other shizz at

Game/Life Balance Australia – Episode 37 – Japanese Cake Culture

Our featured game for this delightful episode is the 2012 stealth game par excellence, Mark of the Ninja. We discuss what this game does so well and why it’s an important game. Plus we speculate about what the nameless protagonist’s name might be, and generally come across like a pair of idiots. Also in this episode: AC’s wife loves cake, Rob loves Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds and AC loves Assassins: A Radical Sect in Islam. Plus we talk about Splatoon 2 a bit because AC bought a copy with his tax return windfall. Hurrah! Oh yes and there’s a quiz at the end as per usual, but this time, with a twist! (PS: not a good twist)

Game/Life Balance Australia – Episode 36 – A Crudely-Drawn Cartoon Dog

This week, AC draws a bad drawing, and it’s all Rob’s fault. Plus we discuss Kira Kira Star Night DX, a new game for the Famicom that someone actually bothered to put onto a cartridge and sell in stores! What a time to be alive. Plus Rob  shares pro strats for Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, then admits he has yet to win a single game, while AC has been busy modding his Wii. And then we wrap it up with a genuinely fun music-themed quiz!

Speaking of music, why not throw us a bone and go check out, the website for our pals Me and My Shadow, who made the intro music for our dumb show. Do it you bastards!

Game/Life Balance Australia – Episode 35 – Stream of Nonsense #5 – You be the bait!

It’s Steam of Nonsense time once more, and the lads are brimming with ribald humour for your ear holes to absorb and for the demon in your head to turn into brain pictures for your imagination to enjoy! This week Rob has been playing the Duo mode in Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, while AC has finished playing Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and is enjoying having his family back in Australia. Also in this stupid episode, the boys discuss crocodile DNA, Steve Irwin’s untimely demise, hunting Mr. T for sport, Cody Gough’s anger issues, AC as the model Australian, Blondey McBlondeFace, sexist impersonations of the opposite gender, Mickey Mouse’s enema, BitSeizure memories, the inevitable disastrous end to this podcast, parental sacrifices, whether having kids is a bad idea, and Harrison Ford swiping stuff from the set of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Fantastique!

Game/Life Gaiden – Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Link and Zelda cosplay

In this very special Gaiden episode, AC joins two American types, Cody Gough, host of the Game/Life Balance US podcast, and Chris Ferrell of the All Things Good and Nerdy podcast, to discuss the mystery and magic of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. That’s right, it’s an international collaboration baby! And the best part is, I didn’t have to record it or edit it or anything which is basically like heaven for me. So put on your sexy green leggings and grip your master sword tightly as the lads take a very deep dive into one of the best games of 2017 and discuss exactly what makes it so darn wonderful.

If you liked hearing Cody talk – and let’s face it who doesn’t (except Uncle Stabbo) – you can check out all their awesome Game/Life Balance US podcasts at And if you fell in love with Chris’ dulcet tones then do yourself a favour and check out the All Things Good and Nerdy podcast at

Game/Life Balance Australia – Episode 34 – The Wall

This week our intrepid heroes jumped out of a perfectly good plane and fell headlong into an island of murderous lunatics. Also we played Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds a bit. So join us as we share our thoughts on its ups and downs in our Featured Game segment! In our Game/Life Balance segment, AC’s balance swings solidly in favour of life after beating The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in time for the (hopeful) return of his family from Japan, while Rob is on leave and has been spending his time building a wall in Fallout 4. Plus the usual poorly-conceived quiz and constant unsavoury jokes – hurrah!

Put on your ninja masks and keep an eye on your stealth meter because good gosh with gravy it’s another episode of Game/Life Balance Australia! This time our featured game is the beloved arcade beat ’em up, Teenage Mutant Ninja Toitles (the only acceptable pronunciation). Plus Rob shares his new sneaky morning ritual, while AC has been stealthily hunting for an elusive PC Engine EverDrive. And to wrap it all up, Rob unleashes the most evil quiz ever devised by a human mind. So if you enjoy listening to AC suffering then you will enjoy this one quite a bit – I know I certainly do!

Our intro music is way way better than we deserve, and was put together by two crude dudes from the USA who go by the name of Me And My Shadow. So do yourself a favour and check out all their other stuff at or

Game/Life Balance Australia – Episode 32 – Man Flu of the Butt

Yeah that’s right we’re still making these. Largely out of spite. But if you’re still listening then you’re in for a gosh darn treat because our featured game this week is a genuine stone cold classic, the arcade beat ’em up par excellence, Double Dragon! We cover the original arcade version plus the various home console ports, including our beloved Master System port and the downright shoddy NES port too. Plus in our Game/Life segment Rob tells us a tale of nappy rash woes, while AC has been sinking all of his copious free time into Zelda: Breath of the Wild. And in honour of Bimmy and Jimmy our quiz this week is all about ports! So that should be fun or at least tolerable shouldn’t it?!

Our theme music (which let’s face it is better than we deserve) is made by two charming gentlemen from the US who go by the name of Me and My Shadow. Check out all their fine musical stylings at! Do it now. NOW.
